To Join Us See Our Adjutant or 1st Vice Commander

The easiest way to join our post is to come to a meeting. It is held on the third Tuesday night of each month at 7:00 pm. Come a few minutes early, and ask to speak with our 1st Vice Commander. He or she will answer any questions and be happy to provide you with a membership form.

Membership Eligibility

To be eligible for membership in The American Legion, you must have served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces at any time since December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving. Please note:


  1. Eligibility dates remain open, which means all active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible t

To be eligible for membership in The American Legion, you must have served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces at any time since December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving. Please note:


  1. Eligibility dates remain open, which means all active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to join The American Legion at this time, until the date of the end of hostilities as determined by the government of the United States.
  2. U.S. Merchant Marine members are eligible only from December 7, 1941, to December 31, 1946 (WWII).
  3. All applicants must submit a copy of DD214 or discharge.

 Eligible veterans applying for first time membership must submit the following information to Post Adjutant:  


  1. Complete American Legion Membership “APPLICATION”.  Print two (2) completed copies.  Keep one copy for your records. Mail or Drop off the other copy to above address, together with your dues payment. (Dues amount on application).

  1. Complete American Legion Membership “APPLICATION”.  Print two (2) completed copies.  Keep one copy for your records. Mail or Drop off the other copy to above address, together with your dues payment. (Dues amount on application). Applications are also available at the Post Canteen,  
  2. Attach COPY OF DD214 OR DISCHARGE, or for those still on Active Duty a copy of your Military ID Card.  
  3. Membership Dues Payment. (Dues amount on application).  Make checks payable to our American Legion Post 654.      DO NOT SEND CASH. 
  4. If the information is correct, membership will be approved and then a membership card will be mailed to you.  
  5. Mail to:  American Legion Post 654, 3105 Campbell, Houston, TX 77080

If you're already a Legionnaire and would like to transfer to American Legion Post 654, please follow these steps:


  1. Complete the Member Data Form.
  2. Attach a copy of DD214 or discharge.
  3. Attach a copy of your membership card.
  4. At the time of transfer, a membership dues payment is required. If current dues are not paid, please pay dues at your curr

If you're already a Legionnaire and would like to transfer to American Legion Post 654, please follow these steps:


  1. Complete the Member Data Form.
  2. Attach a copy of DD214 or discharge.
  3. Attach a copy of your membership card.
  4. At the time of transfer, a membership dues payment is required. If current dues are not paid, please pay dues at your current Post prior to transfer request to keep years as a member.
  5. Mail your application and dues payment to: American Legion Post 654, 3105 Campbell, Houston, TX 77080.
